Juneteenth Festivities in Brewster

Kudos to the Town of Brewster for their second annual Juneteenth Celebration at Drummer Boy Park.    The event included live music, dancing and storytelling, book signings with the Brewster Historical Society, lots of activities for kids and 8 exhibitor tables.  The MLK Action Team offered free Juneteenth flags and kindness stickers to anyone who stopped by our table and we hosted a “Paint a Kindness Rock” activity.  Thanks to NIA and MLK Action Team volunteers Becky Alden, Cherie Armstrong, Karen Boujoukos, Brooke Eaton-Skea, Carol Richardson and Jeff Spalter for helping making the day as fun and informational as it was.

Author Susanna Graham Pye one her daughter Joy were at the book signing table sharing her just released book, The Unremembered A Journey of Reflection into Cape Cod’s Connections to Slavery.
