Orthodox Easter

Orthodox Easter, celebrates Jesus’ resurrection, observed by Eastern Orthodox Christians uses the older Julian calendar, causing it to fall on a different date (often later) than Western Easter. Traditions include midnight church services with candlelight, the “Christ is Risen!” greeting, and blessed foods like red eggs, lamb, and sweet bread (tsoureki).
